Which one to buy — Whiteboards.io, Whiteboards for Jira, or Whiteboards for Confluence?

Whiteboards is available in three different versions, depending on your ecosystem. You can use it as an independent tool when you sign up on Whiteboards.io. If you primarily use Confluence to document your projects, go for Whiteboards for Confluence. Whiteboards for Jira allows working with Jira tickets on digital boards while keeping all native, Jira editing options. It’s the perfect tool to store all details where the technical team is.

Each tool has unique features that can help your team maximize their potential, but they share the same core. Learn more about it.

Whiteboards.io

Our standalone 100% Cloud-based solution offers flexibility that our other versions don’t have. It’s not linked to any Atlassian platforms but integrates with them (and GitHub and more soon!). It’s the perfect solution for your cross-team or even cross-company collaboration. It doesn’t require users to be a part of the Atlassian ecosystem.

You can use Whiteboards.io for free for as long as you want, with access to basic features. If you want to upgrade to Pro, our paid plan starts from $5/month/user. You can compare features on the pricing page

Unlike other versions, you can set custom user roles and give access to guests, decide on your Data Residency, and use our video calls on the board (this feature is only available on whiteboards.io).

Whiteboards for Jira

If you’re looking for a deep integration with Jira and this is your primary tool for product development, we recommend choosing Whiteboards for Jira. It offers our most advanced Jira integration with tools like our issue table that aren’t available in other options. It also integrates with GitHub to create a hub for different ecosystems.

You can create, edit, and visualize all Jira-related details on the board that can be attached to your Jira issues, dashboards, or projects. Keep all plans, flows, and decisions where your developers are. Also—no need to remember about yet another platform, everything happens in Jira.

Whiteboards for Jira inherits the Atlassian permission scheme for users and can be used both in Cloud instances and Data Center/Server. It also offers unlimited boards, and your Data Residency is the same as in your Jira instance.

Whiteboards for Confluence

For companies that document all their processes in Confluence and would like to keep it that way, we suggest going with Whiteboards for Confluence. It expands the features with Confluence-specific options, while keeping the Jira and GitHub integrations from our standalone solution.

Unlike other versions, you can easily create and embed your boards with Confluence macros to visualize flows or user journeys directly on the page. It also offers to make your board a Confluence document template and embed it with just the board URL. No need for iframes or embed URLs.

Similarly to Whiteboards for Jira, Whiteboards for Confluence inherits the data residency, user scheme, and permissions from Confluence settings, so only the right people can access sensitive details or plans.
