How to migrate data between Whiteboards apps?
Create backup files of your boards to move your Whiteboards data between our different versions.
You can use it to migrate boards:
From Whiteboards standalone to Whiteboards for Jira/Whiteboards for Confluence (in Cloud/Server/Data Center),
From Whiteboards for Jira/Whiteboards for Confluence to Whiteboards standalone.
Between hosting versions in Jira/Confluence (Cloud to Cloud, Server/Data Center to Cloud, Cloud to Server/Data Center).
When restoring a backup, all Whiteboards users will have to reauthorize their Jira connection and Jira specific features need to be set up again (e.g. import and update zones, issue tables, Jira issue cards).
When to contact support?
In case you’re also migrating your entire Jira system, reach out to our Support team at support@whiteboards.io to help reconfigure Jira issues and features on the board.
This way you won’t have to re-add every Jira issue to the board. You only need to make sure that the issue keys in both Jira instances stay the same.
Our Support team can also help if you have multiple boards to migrate or want to review users' permissions after the migration.
