How to restore a board or its content?

If a board is accidentally deleted or some content is missing, follow the tips from this article to see if you can find it. We also keep backups of your boards for 30 days, so you can contact us to see how our support can help.

Try these first

Here’s what you can try to find your board or content:

  • Switch to a different organization and review if the missing board is there.

  • Ask a different person if they can find the board and then check the sharing settings (they can give you access or allow the whole organization to open it).

  • Look for the board link in your browser history, address bar, or messages in Slack/email, and try opening it.

  • Restore the board from the backup file.

Contact support

In case you still can’t open the board or don’t see the link anywhere, contact our Support team at support@whiteboards.io with the following details:

  1. The board name and a link to it,

  2. Last edit date,

  3. Which app you were using: whiteboards.io (standalone), Whiteboards for Jira, Whiteboards for Confluence,

  4. Your Jira/Confluence instance name (only for Whiteboards for Jira or Whiteboards for Confluence),

  5. The name of the organization in which you think it was created (whiteboards.io only).

We will then check our backend to locate the board and see if we can restore it. We keep backup copies of your boards for 30 days.
